Native Garden

23/11/2016

A couple of years ago, the horticulturalist decided that Beaumont House needed to show the evolving heritage of the garden by having a natives section. No one had time   to work on it. The shape was made but everyone had to go back to the rest of the garden because of the functions planned. A couple of weeks ago, a few paths were mulched and the logs cut for the edges. Now it only had to grow but it has had a start at least. This first is a 'before' photo. The others are current.

I am pretty sure that you will further improve your garden. There are still lots of plants that you need to put there. I saw your plan on your previous post and I was amazed with everything that I saw. I ma just wishing that everything will be accomplished on how you have planned it because I know how much effort you have exerted just to make it possible. let us hope for what is the best. I am pretty sure you can achieve your desired garden once you have your resources already!

    The Garden Blog

Beaumont House is a South Australian National Trust home  built in 1839. I used to walk past the place often and think to myself that someone ought to do something about the garden.

In my head I shifted plants and weeded and plotted. I did that for a lot of the gardens I walked past but those gardens were owned by people and I couldn't weed for them. Or, I wouldn't.

Anyway, I finally plucked up the courage to send a design plan for the part of the garden I could see from the outside boundary. I eventually got an email answer telling me I was welcome to join the garden volunteers and start working on my plan.

I have taken various before and after photos in the past year. This garden, like all gardens, is an ongoing project.
