A team of about 14 of us spent 3 gardening days pulling up the periwinkle around the marquee pad. When the area was cleared, gypsum and compost were dug in. My area is at the far end and I found heap of rocks and broken bricks. I sorted these out and built another rudimentary rock wall and put soil behind it. This morning I planted ferns this. The area might be too hot for ferns, but for a place holder they're okay at the moment. The rest of the area beneath the fig trees is about to be planted with blue and silver plants. The brides in the marquee will adore this.

The Garden BlogBeaumont House is a South Australian National Trust home built in 1839. I used to walk past the place often and think to myself that someone ought to do something about the garden. Archives
