
The twisty trees are 150 year-old almonds. This year they have a good crop to repay us for giving them a garden border and lots of lovely mulch. Now the view from Dashwood Road is a lot more civilised.
![]() This is a before and after shot taken of the view from the olive grove towards the cottage. It took forever to get rid of the pile of rubble and clay, and the heap of dumped clippings, but all the goodness went back into the garden. The area of the bared soil outside the rock border will grow into the weeds we call 'grass' and will in a couple of months look pretty nice, since it's now being regularly mowed.
